saltfineart | VICTOR HUGO ZAYAS: AIRE

April 4 – 30, 2013

Opening reception April 4, 2013 from 6 – 9 pm

In this exhibition entitled AIRE, artist Victor Hugo Zayas presents a collection of new paintings created as a continuation of his larger GRID series inspired by the Los Angeles Airport. These works pay homage to the human capacity to transcend – both literally and metaphorically. Using deconstructed landscapes that are sculptural in their depth, Zayas’s paintings feature strong intersecting lines representative of the take-off and landings of airplanes, creating an abstract urban grid that hovers between the earth and air.

Victor Hugo Zayas’ talent has proven prodigious, prolific and relentless. His work has been exhibited in galleries and collections across Southern California including museums such as the MOLAA (Long Beach, CA), the Contemporary Museum of Art (Mexico City, Mexico), the Orange County Museum of Art (Newport Beach, CA) and most recently a solo exhibition at the Laguna Art Museum (Laguna Beach, CA).
