A keen sense of movement, architecture, and design inspire Rivera to push the relationship between painting and sculpture. His work elevates both mediums in more ways than one. Born in El Salvador, Rivera began his career as a self-taught artist, exploring empirical color theory, composition, art history, and modern art. Later he begins to experiment with materials, which leads him to discover the techniques he uses to compose his art. These have been influenced with all kinds of shapes, figures, colors, lights, elements, and other aspects that make up his dimensional works. Rivera’s particular world of shapes and color, alongside his unique mark of abstract and minimalist style, have made him a reference point in contemporary Latin American art today.
