Maggie Lowe Tennesen is a Southern California native currently living in the Coachella Valley. She received her BFA at CalArts and her MFA at California State University at Long Beach. She teaches at College of the Desert. Her paintings and drawings have appeared in numerous exhibitions including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Her practice has enabled her to travel to Silpakorn University, Bangkok, Thailand as part of an art exchange between Thailand and California, Kriva Palanka, Macedonia as part of an art fellowship and to the XIX International Art Colony in St. Joakim Osogovski. In 2018, she accepted a fellowship at Gildjsfjordurarts, Iceland and spent the summer in the cold interior of the Icelandic environment creating a new body of paintings.
