The paintings of Alexis Zambrano read like a cabinet of curiosities of his perspectives and passions. Growing up in Monterrey, Mexico in an avid art-collecting family, he developed an early appreciation for art, apprenticing with well-known artists Aldo Chaparro, Juan Torres and Ximena Subercasauz, already by the age of 12. Zambrano went on to earn a BFA in Architectural Design from Parsons the New School for Design and made New York City his home in 2008. Since then Zambrano has been incorporating elements of his life and loves in a slowly developing visual diary through meticulously rendered oils that bring together highly aesthetic points of history with areas of the artist’s interest and expertise, architecture & design.
