This project is the height of the curated home concept of taking a pre-existing collection and enriching it through the careful addition of pieces that add structure and narrative. In this case, the collectors’ New York and Panamanian roots add a sense of edge and adventure. The entire house is a palette for fine art, with Art Deco elements expressed through custom lighting and wall texture, designed collaboratively by the couple and interior designer Ms. Sonya Zamora. Walls were intentionally kept tall in order to hold significant works of art while creative ways of dividing the space create architectural intimacy and warmth. The collection itself is a balance of local and international artists expressing the collectors’ keen interest in art and community. Several areas were created for relaxation and entertaining – cooking, conversation, and contemplation are all central to this home.
